Army West Point Aspiring Head Coach Program

Army West Point just launched a Future Head Coach Development Program that gives assistant coaches a real pathway: program management, budgeting, culture-building, mock interviews, and mentorship from current head coaches.

It's a brilliant model. And independent schools should be paying attention. Too often, talented assistants are expected to figure out the leap on their own. What if your school intentionally built that bridge — developing leadership, management, and community-building skills before someone steps into the top role?

Investing in your assistant coaches isn't just professional development. It's how you build stronger programs and stronger leaders for your students.
